We closed Friday with a slight bias and momentum building on the buy side.   This mornings weaker open will be a test to see if those late Friday buyers were correct or not.   Watch the ticks today to see how they set up.

The tick correction I was looking for in the AM finished at around 12:15 and then began a slow and steady climb for the rest of the afternoon.  That is bullish for tomorrows open but there is much news overnight and in the morning and news a l w a y s trumps indicators, just know that the underling tick trend is bullish.

Much news this AM so hard to call before the news and reaction arrives but I would expect the current down trend in the ticks to finish this AM.  We would have to see if there is strength to rally this afternoon after I run my mid-day charts.

Any gap up I will most likely sell on the first sign of weakness.

]]> http://www.redliontrader.com/ticks/expecting-morning-weakness-as-ticks/feed/ 0 NYSE Ticks http://www.redliontrader.com/ticks/nyse-ticks/ http://www.redliontrader.com/ticks/nyse-ticks/#comments Sat, 10 Oct 2009 17:23:00 +0000 redliontrader http://rlt.twert.me/?p=83 I have now had several requests to share with the trading community my TradeStation Ticks indicator.  I confess that  this is one of my favorite indicator and it has given me some really great entries and exits when some of my other indicators have been either chopping or stuck in neutral.  I also need to credit Linda Raschke for helping me with helping me put some of the missing pieces in that I needed in place  in order for me to to turn the raw ticks into a workable indicator.

The NYSE ticks is the only indicator that I know of that can actually lead the market.  I run my version of the tick indicator on a one minute time frame and find that it is often a full minute after the ticks have made their extreme ticks before the market does.  How great is that!
